It includes the text of the ›Versuch einer Critik aller Offenbarung‹ (1792, 2nd ed., 1793), which may be considered the first and most complete presentation of a Critical Philosophy of Religion, as well as the anonymously published polemical writings, ›Zurückforderung der Denkfreihet‹ and ›Beiträg zur Berichtigung der Urtheile des Publikums über die französische Revolution‹ in which Fichte presented himself as a spokesperson for the principles of the French Revolution.
